Jennifer Lopez's new Pad in the Hamptons

Jenny from the block has moved on the Hamptons.  Check out the new home she bought for a cool $18,000,000!

How awesome would this room be as a bedroom!!!

White marble bathroom.

Love the white kitchen and dying over the fact that it has a fireplace!!!!

Love the whitewashed wood panelling!

How cool would a big round table be in front of these stairs!

OK, who watches Revenge?  The first episode was a little rocky but the second episode has me hooked.  Anyhow...Doesn't this house remind you of Victoria Grayson's(Madeline Stowe's) mansion on the show?

Quick and Healthy Dinner- Parmesan-Crusted Tilapia

I have been obsessed with baking fish in parchment paper lately.  It is easy and delicious but last night I was not in the mood to do the preparation of chopping veggies to put in the parchment paper with the fish.

I know some people might find chopping therapeutic after a long day of work but not me.  I looked for a quick alternative and found this Parmesan-Crusted Tilapia  from Rachel Ray

before going in the oven

You can get the recipe basically just mix paprika, parsley and parmesan cheese together and put a little olive oil on the fish and coat with the cheese mixture.  I did not have grated parmesan, only shredded and I used less cheese than the recipe called for and it still turned out great.

I roasted some asparagus and tomatoes with EVOO (that's for Rachel Ray) and a little salt and pepper and put it in the oven at the same time as the fish...which worked out perfectly!

FYI...foil is my best friend for a quick and easy cleanup!

Here is an after picture.  It was really good!  If you are looking for a quick, healthy and easy recipe for dinner then this is one to try!

Top Ten Side Tables

I need new side tables for our living room and I have scoured the internet to come up with my top 10 favorite side tables.  I tried to stay in the $1,000 and under range and was pleasantly surprised to find so many options.  Most of the tables above come in different finish options so that you can match them to your decor.  Do you have a favorite?

Travel Tuesday - Il Salviatino in Florence

While we were in Florence we stayed at Il Salviatino. It is an amazing hotel and lived up to all my expectations!  We wanted  to stay at a place that was just outside Florence but close enough to be able to go into town everyday.  This turned out to be the perfect location.  As soon as you drive up the windy driveway you really feel secluded...yet you are only a short drive to the city.

Il Salviatino is an old estate that has recently been renovated and turned into a hotel.  The attention to detail and excellent service are what really make this hotel stand out.

When we first arrived we were escorted out to this amazing porch and given a glass of champagne.  It was the perfect was to start out our stay at Il Salviatino

Views of the garden.

The swimming pool was the perfect way to end our hot days of sightseeing.  The water was so refreshing and looking out at the cypress trees was so relaxing!

Inside the hotel there were so many architectural and decorative details.

They had fresh orchids throughout the hotel.

We had cocktails before dinner every night and they would bring us 3 small appetizers each with our aperitifs.  Delicious!!!

We loved sitting in the library with drinks after dinner!  My boyfriend now wants to buy some of those candle holder things...aka candelabras...another reason why I love him...yes...we do need some silver candelabras!

We ate breakfast out here every morning.  Breakfast is included in the room, they had a large selection and you could really order anything you wanted.

Front of hotel

The rooms were simple and beautiful.  All white bedding with a tufted white leather headboard.  The rooms had dark brown accents and beautiful wood floors.  I loved the hotel decor...if you are anything like me and love interior design then you know that the decor can make or break your stay at a nice hotel...they did an amazing job and have fabulous taste!

One of the best things about Il Salviatino is that they have "ambassadors" on staff 24 hours that can help you with any need or want that you have.  We relied on them for dinner reservations and for planning activities during the day.  Giuseppe was the man and our trip would not have been the same without him!

Giuseppe planned our favorite day!  A trip to Chianti!  I will do a separate post on the winery because it was so special and picturesque!

We loved this hotel and can't wait to go back!

Let's take a trip to Capri!

While we were in Positano, we took a day trip to Capri.  We took the ferry boat and it was a pretty easy process.  I think it only took 30 minutes and the bottom of the ferry has A/C...I discovered this on our way back to least we had A/C one way. was August and hot, hot, hot!

Anyway, you pull into the marina above and there is a cute row of shops and restaurants facing the marina. Then we took a chairlift up to the top of Capri.  Great views and much better than taking a taxi up the windy roads!

When you get off of the chairlift, you end up at this beautiful square.  If you look over the side there are beautiful ocean views.  Unfortunately, my pictures didn't come out so great so you will have to use your imagination..

Then we made our way through the town which is made up of these tiny streets packed with stores and tourists.  It was pretty busy when we were there but some streets were quaint and quiet.

I knew Capri was known for being where the heavy hitters play but I did not know that there are so many designer stores....from Valentino to Robert Rodriguez...they have everything!

And it is true that people flaunt their stuff on Capri.  Of course there were tons of tourists in shorts and tennis shoes but we spotted a few people looking fabulous and perfect from head to toe, dripping with jewelry and designer duds.

Did I mention it was hot?  It was so hot that I encouraged my boyfriend to buy an Italian shirt in Italy.  We went into Brioni and the A/C was amazing, not to mention the clothes.  He tried on a handful of styles and finally picked one out he loved...once we returned to normal body temperature:)

The streets had so much character and were so charming.

I really loved this green and yellow building!  Especially the cute windows and balconies.

Okay, so this is not what we expected but out of all the pizzas we consumed in Italy...our favorite one was on Capri!  Our hotel recommended Villa Verde and it was delicious!

I really enjoyed Capri and would love to go back.  There is a lot more on the Island to explore and I have heard that it is amazing at night when all the day us...are gone and the town is quiet and you can just take in the amazing views!
