We just got home this afternoon and it feels so good to be back in Los Angeles! I went to Atlanta for Christmas and then we turned around and went to Aspen for New Years Eve.
We got off the plane today and we were greeted with 80 degrees LA weather with lots of smog in the background. The altitude in Aspen was really affecting us so we had never been so happy to breathe in the smoggy air of Los Angeles!
We got in early enough to enjoy a chicken sandwich at Il Tramezzino in Beverly Hills. Yum!!!
We got to see Scott Disick from Keeping up With The Kardashians...driving around in a bright blue Rolls Royce convertible.
We got to see my favorite Beverly Hills homeless man who wears a cape and gives compliments in exchange for money.
But what I really enjoyed the most about being back in LA was walking into our home! Sometimes it takes being away for a little bit to really appreciate and realize how much you love your home.
Decorating our place has been a process with lots of ups and downs. It has been way more emotional and stressful than I ever though it would be...but today I sat down on the sofa in my den feeling content and happy with everything in the room!
I thought that I would share a picture of my view from the sofa...
When we first decorated our den we had a really hard time picking out fabric for the curtains that we both agreed on. When we finally found a fabric we agreed on, we just went with it knowing that it was a bold choice and we might not like it, but after hundreds(not kidding) of swatches we had to make a decision.
When they first were hung I was pretty much in shock with how the pattern lined up and it was almost dizzying. I was on the fence for a LONG time and I have had a love/hate relationship with them.
I must say that I now love these curtains...and it took until today to realize how much I do actually love them!
This is a shot of the trim. I am giddy over trim, love it, love it, love it and the trim on these curtains is probably my favorite part!
It can be a crazy world out there but it always feels good to come home, sweet home. I am grateful to just have a roof over my head and in the big picture, curtains are really not that important...but it sure feels good to love my crazy, controversial, flower power curtains!
