Travel Tuesday - Villa San Michele

Villa San Michele is located in Fiesole, Tuscany Italy on a hill above the city of Florence.  Once a Monastery dating from the 15th century, the now boutique hotel's facade is attributed to Michelangelo.

You drive up a winding narrow road and the first glance of the Villa and the view of Florence are just breathtaking.

Walking into the Renaissance villa you feel like you are stepping back in time.

I have not stayed at Villa San Michele but while we were staying down the road at Il Salviatino, we wondered up to Villa San Michele to dine on the alfresco loggia.

I highly recommend Villa San Michele for dinner.  The sweeping view of Florence from the terrace is amazing and the food is delicious.

Dining here was really a night to remember.  You can feel the history surrounding you and the view of Florence cannot be beat!
