Waterford Estate in Stellenbosch

Back to Africa:)  I took a little break from posting on Africa because it was such a special trip and I really wanted to be able to spend time picking out the photos I wanted to use...and make sure that I had the time to write a proper post.  I also didn't want people to get bored because I could do a post on Africa everyday:)

So, I will be randomly posting about the beauty of Africa for the next month and hopefully spending the next few Travel Tuesdays writing about the fabulous hotels that we stayed in.

We finished  our trip to South Africa in wine country and it was the perfect ending.  I was blown away by the mountains and the greenery.  They also had the most beautiful wine estates.  One of our favorite wineries that we visited in South Africa was Waterford Estate which is located in Stellenbosch.

We did a wine tasting out here on this gorgeous covered porch.  They specialize in a wine tasting with chocolate pairings but we actually skipped that option so that we could try their flagship wine...The Jem 2007.  It is a blend of  60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Shiraz, 7.5% Malbec, 7.5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Mourv√®dre, 2.5% Sangiovese, 2.5% Barbera .  I found it to be delightful:)

Here I am, very happy after our wine tasting.

Waterford Estate is definitely worth the visit for a wine tasting, chocolate pairing and just for the beautiful Estate and landscape alone!
